Whether you’re going on a short trip or a long one, it’s always a good idea to travel light. If you are flying, and are able to bring only a carry-on with you, you’ll save yourself a great deal of time and hassle at the airport. Even if you can’t minimize to quite that length, you can certainly think of creative ways to take less.
1. Find out about laundry facilities where you are going. Your convenience and comfort are very important. If you can do the research and find out that there is a laundry mat nearby where you are staying, it may be worth it to bring only two or three outfits. You can use the laundry facilities, and know that you won’t run out of clothes.
2. Think about accessories and reading materials. If you can live with one small bag of makeup, rather than a huge backpack of it, this will help. Consider bringing a selection of magazines from National Magazine Exchange or a similar location rather than bringing a book. Magazines are lighter to carry, in general, and they offer a variety of interesting topics that will get you through your trip.
