One concern that many people have when they start a magazine subscription is that they may not continue wanting that specific magazine for years on end. Children outgrow their magazine subscriptions; adults change their interests.
This is where the National Magazine Exchange has a unique and thoughtful solution. With NME, there is a Reader’s Exchange Program. If you decide that you want to switch magazines, you can do so. Just look through the popular list of all of their magazine offerings and then email them your choices. In your email, you should list the magazines that you want to change and those that you want to receive now.
And that’s it! You should then be ready to receive and enjoy many new magazines. Happy reading with the Reader’s Exchange Program!

My son is training to become a black belt in karate, and he was just given a fantastic gift for his birthday. His grandparents bought him a one year subscription to a magazine about karate. They ordered it through the National Magazine Exchange, and we eagerly await the magazine each month. First of all, it’s getting my son to read which is, in itself, an amazing task. In addition, it’s teaching him techniques so that he can improve his karate and set his sights on the black belt that he wants so much.
This new magazine subscription is also keeping him interested in karate. While he’s always enjoyed karate, everything gets boring after awhile. We really want him to continue taking classes, as it’s great discipline and focus. So, this magazine has helped us in this task, since he’s gotten excited about karate again now that he has an interesting, lively magazine coming each month that discusses karate.
The magazine from National Magazine Exchange is also giving him role models. It features people who have high level karate skills, and it’s helping him to see that he might be able to do what they are doing. It’s offering him role models – which is a very important thing to have as a teenage boy (or as anyone for that matter!). What a great gift – that keeps on giving!

If you love to travel, you should probably do a few things before you pack up and head out. Certainly, you’ll want to have good equipment. If you plan to hike a good deal, you’ll want to have the right shoes, a great backpack and camping materials. You’ll also want to make smart decisions about where you are heading to.
One great way to do this is to purchase books, travel guides, and magazine subscriptions from National Magazine Exchange that can help you to get ideas. Each of these resources will give you travel itinerary suggestions, hints for items to pack, locations to avoid and more.
Certainly, it’s fun to simply pack up and head into the wide open world. However, having a few resources and suggestions can make your experience that much more fun – and safe – for everyone involved. And, even if you don’t actually have the money or time to travel – you’ll love reading about travel with a monthly magazine subscription or with travel books. Certainly, there are brides who need a lot of things. You know the ones – with the huge registry from many stores and the millions of items begging to be bought. Some brides, however, seem to need very little. Other times, even if the bride has a long registry, it’s possible that you don’t want to purchase anything from the list. What should you do?
One great suggestion that almost any bride will enjoy is a magazine subscription. A magazine subscription from National Magazine Exchange, or another company, offers the bride a gift that keeps on giving. She will think of you each week or month as the magazine arrives, and will continue to enjoy the gift far longer than she would most other items.
Certainly, you can order her a magazine about brides and weddings. But, really, anything goes. If she loves sewing, get her a magazine about design or one about dress making. Should she enjoy food and cooking, purchase her a cooking magazine. The thought is what counts – and she’ll love the opportunity to read and enjoy for months to come.

I often wonder how people learn to cook so well. It’s not inherent that we all know how to cook. How is one to learn to become a good and creative chef? I’ve started asking around to see how my friends learned to cook well and I’ve received a few interesting answers.
- Mom – of course, the number one response is that good ol’ mom taught them to cook.
- TV – Some of my friends actually said that they learned to cook well from watching cooking channels on TV. Who would have thought?
- Magazines – There are oodles of magazines from companies like National Magazine Exchange that can teach you to cook well. Whether they are teaching you which ingredients to purchase, where to get the best deals, or how to combine ingredients for great dishes, my friends say that they’ve learned loads from magazines.
- Trial and error – There is always the good old fashioned trial and error. You try out recipes, try to follow them exactly, and then see how you do.
Bon Appetite!

It’s almost Valentine’s Day, and that means it’s time to think of a great gift again. Don’t groan – just get into action! Here are a few ideas for great Valentine’s Day gifts that are bound to make her – or him – smile and enjoy.
- Chocolates – Who can resist chocolates? One great way to give chocolates (or fruit or flowers) is to do a chocolate of the month club. You can do these clubs for three months, six months or a while year. Your loved one will love getting it every month and knowing that you are thinking of them – even when Valentine’s Day is long over.
- Magazine Subscription – Browse through the huge selection of magazines that you can find at a place like the National Magazine Exchange. You’ll be amazed by the prices and by the huge selection of magazines. Find a topic that interests your loved one, and she or he will love receiving this gift that keeps on giving.
- Spa Day – Either a man or a woman can enjoy a spa day. Sign up for both of you and make it into a romantic adventure together!
