The Glamorous Life

Most of us probably don’t lead the most glamorous lives.  We get up in the morning, get ready for work, and we take care of ourselves and our families.  But, that doesn’t mean that we can’t dream – or enjoy the idea of being more glamorous.

Books and magazines are a great way to escape an ordinary life every once in awhile and to enjoy a more glamorous you.  By subscribing to a magazine, like Glamour or People, you can enjoy the idea of a more glamorous life.  And with so many options from a company like National Magazine Exchange, you’ll find the perfect way to escape to the high life today!

Tips for Traveling Light

travelWhether you’re going on a short trip or a long one, it’s always a good idea to travel light.  If you are flying, and are able to bring only a carry-on with you, you’ll save yourself a great deal of time and hassle at the airport.  Even if you can’t minimize to quite that length, you can certainly think of creative ways to take less.

1.    Find out about laundry facilities where you are going.  Your convenience and comfort are very important.  If you can do the research and find out that there is a laundry mat nearby where you are staying, it may be worth it to bring only two or three outfits.  You can use the laundry facilities, and know that you won’t run out of clothes.

2.    Think about accessories and reading materials.  If you can live with one small bag of makeup, rather than a huge backpack of it, this will help.  Consider bringing a selection of magazines from National Magazine Exchange or a similar location rather than bringing a book.  Magazines are lighter to carry, in general, and they offer a variety of interesting topics that will get you through your trip.

Stay Entertained While Waiting

Sure, if we had nothing to do all day, we might not mind sitting I the doctor’s waiting room.  However, most of us lead very busy lives; for this reason, we tend not to enjoy the visit to the doctor, dentist, and the like.  What can you do to pass the time better and to help yourself to remain calm?  Here are a number of ideas that just might help.

1.    Bring along a game.  For people who love Sudoku, for instance, this time will be well spent playing a few rounds.

2.    Bring some magazines.  Sure, the office might have magazines that you can look through, but they are often well-loved (perhaps too well loved) and ripped.  Bringing your own NME magazines ensures that you’ve got something to read – and that you are sharing germs with other patients.

3.    Bring your computer.  You can play games on your computer, or on your Blackberry or similar device.  This will help to pass the time and will keep you entertained.

While considering how to pass the time at the doctor’s office, the one thing you shouldn’t do is talk on the cell phone.  It is really quite rude to sit there chatting with your friend while you’re in a packed waiting room.  Either use text message, or just wait to talk until you leave the office.
